Ta and I skipped work today and took advantage of the lovely weather venturing out for our first outdoor bike trek.
We didn't try anything fancy, we just rode out from our house to the Minuteman trail. We rode it to the end and back for a total of 25mi, pretty much flat except for the hill right near our house. All in all, it was a pretty successful outing: we averaged ~11.5mph ... and only one skinned knee (ouch!).

You go girls! Glad you were able to get out in the beauteous weather. Did you go again this weekend? Really liked the action photo of Sarah speeding by...is that how the skinned knee happened. Last but NOT least, I think beer might be even better than gin for the training regimen. We tried it today after a 38.5 mile ride....while we were sitting very still and quiet. Definitely good times.
Why, why why do you guys get all the fun!!! I did the minuteman on monday night (only from Tal's house to rte 128 and back)...by myself and blew away my previous mph's. I went up to 28m/h in places (using my aero bars, which really work in the wind!) and averaged 14.6m/h for the trip. My bike is a speed demon. still haven't clipped in tho. :(
It *was* fantastic weather this weekend, i agree with nancy. soooo nice for bike rides. last night i did a quick ride and got caught in those thunderstorms and headed back early, only getting in 5 or 6 miles.
Geez Louise....28 mph? Tell me that was downhill! We won't be able to see you when we ride -- just identify a blur.
